Billy Bradshaw was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. His early inspiration came from his father, an artist and woodworker, who surrounded Billy with his paintings and taught him the family business of custom furniture design. Learning the craft of furniture making and wood carving set Billy on the path of becoming a great artist and sculptor.
As furniture designs changed and metal work became more popular, Billy taught himself to weld and he became an expert in metal fabrication. He added a custom forge to his studio, and developed the mold making skills necessary for handmade hinges and door hardware. Teaching himself the art of metalwork and combining that with his knowledge of furniture making led Billy to explore and create his own original sculptures.
Over the years Billy has read and watched everything he could get his hands on about sculpture and casting. He loves coming up with new techniques for creating sculpture and plans on doing so for the rest of his life. He considers sculptor Stan Wanlass and his Father Dean Bradshaw to be his biggest influences, and continues to mix the techniques of woodworking and sculpture. Billy lives with his wife, children, and two dogs in Salt Lake City, UT.
